I'm in a Beck mood for some reason.
When I'm at home, I'll listen to the DVD-A of Sea Change, but for now, at school, I'll listen to Odelay.

*sheilds face, and buttocks*
Dire Straits play some nice tunes. "Sultans of Swing" of course, and "Six Blade Knife" I've been listening to recently. It really puts sharp contrast to shit like "I Hate Everything About You!" and the majority of god-awful music people are churning out today.
Ugh, I heard Courtney Love's new "Mono" the other day. It sounded like the Donnas started a recording session after vomiting up a dish or two of fine Mexican cuisine. "Suck" has a new definition, my friends, and this is it.

Beck, Sea Change. The first 5 or 6 times I listened to this album I fell asleep after the first couple songs. I liked it, but for whatever reason it just put me right to sleep. But then the songs started getting stuck in my head while I was awake. Kinda funny how it changed on me. Now I listen to it wide awake
It's great.

Lately I've been listening to The Action and Do Make Say Think. The Action are a mod band from the sixties in the vain of The Who, but more soulful. DMST are an instrumental rock band.
The Action has slowly been growing on me, and while I do like DMST, I think that Godspeed You Black Emperor, their contemporaries and label mates, are a Better band.
I give a thumbs up all 'round, though.
But right now I'm listening to Pink Floyd's Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Great album.

That's the same way the CD was with me.
Garth Jennings video on that DVD is awesome.

Green Day Dookie
I don't care if you don't like it. I don't care if it's mainstream. I like it.

I remember being pumped about that CD in 5th grade. Woot.
My AOL screenname was like, Dookie27 or something.
For about a week.

I like it.. it's better than every other Green Day album. Although that's not saying a whole lot.

I really hate the mainstream = bad mentality. Just because a lot of people appreciate something doesn't make it any worse. It strikes me as a toddler-like selfish mindset. I mean, I understand the idea behind it, and I struggle with snobbery like that myself, but it's really sad that p-0man feels he has to defend his music against a label like that.

I have no problem with popular music if it's good. I like Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Beck, the White Stripes and the Strokes. They're all popular, I think. I don't know, though. I don't listen to the radio, or watch T.V.

The Offspring - Splinter
Meh, its good enough.
So whats the deal with The Darkness? Some crazy shit.

::same thinking::
Anyways, I've been listening to (I know some of this is a redux) Beck - Sea Change, Beta Band - Hot Shots II, Fatboy Slim - Better Living Through Chemistry, and I went back and have been listening to the Shins first CD allot.
Allright.

I've only got the second shins. I don't like it as much as the first (heard it online) but it's still good. My town sucks for record shops.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell. Some good songs, some just ok songs, and a couple great ones. Overall, good stuff. MTV has been playing the video for "Maps" somewhat frequently, if you like that song, you'll like the yeah yeah yeahs. It's one of the great ones on the album.

The second one has to grow on you, but after it does, you'll like it just as much as the first one.
The Yeah Yeah Yeah's are pretty cool, too.
